Bush Administration promotes LGBT Pride

UPDATED HERE

I came across this website today promoting Pride in the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender lifestyles. Frankly, I'm not sure what to make of it.

My first response is that accurate information leads to good decisions; but of course this is the lie of Enlightenment thinking and does not take sinful nature into account. It hasn't worked in high school and it doesn't work here.

Next, I wonder why the Bush administration is blaming society's 'homophobia' and 'discrimination' for the 'high risk' choices that homosexuals make, "homophobia and heterosexism influence rates of substance abuse among individuals who are LGBT because some turn to alcohol or drugs in an attempt to hide from their emerging sexual orientation or in an attempt to fit in with their peers" (cite)

I wonder why abstinence isn't promoted anywhere on the website. Isn't abstinence the preferred method for protection from STD's in the Bush administration? Instead, it says, "get to know your partner and his/her sexual history" (cite)

Why are my tax dollars going to support the promotion and endorsement of homosexuality? Yesterday was Religious Freedom Day. Thomas Jefferson, in his Virginia Statute on Religious Freedom (from where we get the holiday), stated, "that to compel a man to furnish contributions of money for the propagation of opinions which he disbelieves, is sinful and tyrannical." I find myself agreeing with Mr. Jefferson today.

We've heard that the President is the president to all Americans; but is this, explicitly or implicitly, an endorsement of homosexual lifestyles. And, if so, does it contradict the image that Bush endorses traditional values?

Lastly, why are there no links for homosexuals who choose to leave that lifestyle like Exodus International?

Thoughtful Readers Speak:
I'm a homosexual and I pay taxes. And I'm glad that my taxes can go to something that helps people like me stay healthy. The fact is, homosexuals pay taxes, just think of it as our money paying for the website and not yours, and you'll have less to get upset about.

Homosexuality isn't a religion.

Probably the reason they don't link to "Exodus International" is because that organization is a sham and has no record of success; even the founder of the organization (and it's most prominent "success story") is consistently found soliciting gay sex in bars, etc.

Exodus International is a joke. At best it exists only as a bookmark for debators on the internet to buoy their anti-gay views.

Exodus International is a great organization with an enormous amount of proven success. Tens of thousands of ex-gays. Don't believe Chet.

That's absolutely a false statement, which makes it no surprise you chose to post anonymously.
