Sanctity of Life: 2005 in Review

This Sunday is Sanctity of Life Sunday, celebrated by millions nationwide. Because of the unique nature of humanity in the world and the preciousness of life, I'd to celebrate from here until Sunday. Happy Sanctity of Life--uh, Sunday?

2005 was a good year according to this post at the FRC:
Arkansas and Texas enacted laws calling for parental consent in cases of minors seeking an abortion.

Florida, Oklahoma, Georgia, South Dakota and Missouri enacted laws dealing with parental notification in cases of minors seeking an abortion.

Arkansas, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, Minnesota, Oklahoma and South Dakota enacted laws that give expectant mothers information on topics like ultrasounds and fetal pain.

Florida, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Texas adopted or extended legislation authorizing funding for organizations that provide counseling on "alternatives to abortion" and services to pregnant women.

Meanwhile, South Dakota adopted legislation that would immediately criminalize abortion in the event Roe v. Wade is overturned, joining Illinois, Kentucky and Louisiana.
A tremendous year, indeed.

Thoughtful Readers Speak:
Let's not act like notification laws are anything but permission laws. And I think it's disgusting to put a pregnant minor in the position of having to get permission to have an abortion from her rapist.

It's great that you love children. How many babies are you going to adopt, JR?

hopefully 5, thanks for asking.

and you?

My little brother is adopted. If we have kids we'll probably do one the old fashioned way and adopt one.
