Santorum: The Senator Strikes Back

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid accused Senator Rick Santorum of unethical activity involved with the K Street Project and made racial slurs based on his Italian heritage. That doesn't seem very nice.

In response, Senator Santorum wrote this letter. In it he politely blasts Reids hypocrisy and confronts his racism.

Thoughtful Readers Speak:
There's a reason why Santorum's name was taken to mean, well, you know...santorum.

Did you hear Santorum the other day, equating the act of applying a Vote for Santorum bumper sticker to your car with the bravery and sacrifice of our troops in Iraq?

Yeah. Santorum is your guy, huh? A real piece of work, this one. And as dirty as they come. Don't expect to see him around much after the next election; polls put him well behind his opponent, thank goodness.

SANTORUM ACTUALLY SAID: "And yet we have brave men and women who are willing to step forward because they know what's at stake. They're willing to sacrifice their lives for this great country.

"What I'm asking all of you tonight is not to put on a uniform. Put on a bumper sticker. Is it that much to ask? Is it that much to ask to step up and serve your country?"

probably not the best choice of words, but you're being a little harsh on the man

How am I being harsh? The man just equated a bumper sticker with the awesome sacrifice of our troops, and implied that the hardest thing they ever do is put a uniform on. WTF?

You need to see past your partisan blinders and see Santorum for what he really is - a corrupt political opportunist whose ego truly knows no bounds.

i don't have a problem with what he said.

"What I'm asking all of you tonight is not to put on a uniform. Put on a bumper sticker. Is it that much to ask? Is it that much to ask to step up and serve your country?"

is it offensive to say that putting on a bumper sticker is serving the country. gee, hyper sensitive i suppose you are

is it offensive to say that putting on a bumper sticker is serving the country.

No, it's offensive to say that putting on a bumper sticker is the same as dying for your country. (That's what he's referring to by "sacrifice".) And you would agree if it were a Democrat who had said it.

excuse me, your partisanship is showing
