Should Christians Stay or Go?

Part of the Christian life is making decisions about when a group or person has become too corrupt, vile, or pagan, that disassociation is the only alternative. These decisions are sometimes tough; however, especially when children are involved, their importance is paramount.

The Girl Scouts have betrayed their heritage and become propagandists for the liberal, feminist movement. Enter, The American Heritage Girls. Founded in 1995 outside of Cincinnati, OH, these girls "promise to love God, Cherish my family, Honor my country, and Serve in my community." I like it.

When it comes to reproducing our values in our children, this decision is easy.

Thoughtful Readers Speak:
When I was in the Girlscouts it was totally lame.

The Girl Scouts website calls them a "movement." Seems kinda odd for an established organization. Sounds like they have an agenda to me.

Yes, it's all part of a Communist plot. Just like the floride in your water.

Flouride in the water is a good thing...makes it taste better too. Much better than this California crap here, but I digress.

Boy Scouts are a movement, too, so there's really nothing all that sinister about it.

As Erica has said, the idea of a "camp" where young girls learn how to sew, cook, and cleave to submissive gender roles doesn't sound like much fun; the GS had to change or die just like everybody else and provide girls with what they actually wanted to do, which was camp and have adventures like the Boy Scouts do. I don't think it's "feminist" for girls to have a good time.

But, good luck with your "American Heritage Girls." Doesn't really sound like fun to me.
