School Bans Teenager Cleavage

Men are wired by God to be attracted to the female body. Women have an emotional drive to be attracting men. The system works well until it is corrupted by sin; thus, we have men who sinfully lust after women and women who sinfully seek the attention of men.

Women who communicate the message of sexual availability are prostitutes and adulteresses. This message (look at me, desire me, touch me, kiss me) is often communicated through action, dress, and words.

One school has had enough. Arlington Independent School District in Texas has started enforcing a new dress code: "The display of cleavage is unacceptable. Low cut blouses, tops, sweaters, etc. with plunging necklines are not allowed." These poor girls lack such self-respect that rely increasingly on their figure instead of their personality and charm to garner the attention from men.

I blame mothers who, by permitting their daughters to wear sexually suggestive clothing, are teaching their daughters to be adulteresses and prostitutes. I don't get it. Why would a mother buy a tight fitting, loose fitting, see-through, or inadequately covering, outfit for their daughter? Why would a mother say, "Your personality isn't really that magnetic; you'll have to compensate by dressing like a whore"?

Mothers, don't let your daughters grow up to be floozies. Communicate your love by teaching them, "Adulteresses wear clothing like that; I love you too much to let ruin your life and the lives of men in your life." Yeah, it's hard--but grow a spine. The purity of your daughter's life is riding on your shoulders.

Thoughtful Readers Speak:
I agree with you but in the defense of mothers, it is really hard to take your teenage girl shopping today and actually come home with something modest. My daughter has been shopping for months to buy something for church and we can't find anything. It's either too low cut or too tight.

I completely understand; the styles these days really make shoppping difficult for the conservative female.

My wife has similar difficulties. A store (talbots; i hate to appear endorsing-ish) recently had a 50% off sale and we stocked up on otherwise out of our price-league clothes.

In Galatians 5:17 it says “For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh; for these are opposed to each other, to prevent you from doing what you would.”

Also in Romans 7:21-25 it states “So I find it to be a law that when I want to do right, evil lies close at hand. For I delight in the law of God, in my inmost self, but I see in my members another law at war with the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin which dwells in my members. Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I of myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin.”

This desire of licentiousness represents the lower appetite of human nature which is contrary to reason. This lower appetite is of itself unrestrained, so as to pursue sensuous gratifications independently of the understanding and without regard to the good of higher faculties, ie, reasoning. All of which is concupiscence.

God bless,

Tito
