Harvard Denies Faith & Reason

Harvard University denies Faith & Reason on the basis of academic freedom; the very foundation upon which academic freedom was built.

In an attempt to pretend that faiths do not exist, Harvard faculty recently voted down a committee recommendation to add a course titled "Faith & Reason" to the curriculum. The course aimed to provide students, "with a fuller understanding of both local and global issues involving religious faith, the courses are intended to help students become more informed and reflective citizens."

The objections came largely from the science faculty, "There is an enormous constituency of people who would hold that faith and reason are two routes to knowledge. It is a mistake to affirm that..."

Harvard obviously doesn't affirm academic freedom. The recent faculty vote of no-confidence for president Lawrence Summers, shows their real colors. (This is the president who suggested that gender may have something to do with career choice.) I find it personally gratifying to watch liberals decontruct themselves.
